A Look Back On This Year

Every year around the holidays, I look back on the past year and look ahead to what I want to accomplish in the coming year. It has been challenging because we wanted to grow our presence online and expand the business. The challenges included finding the right team members and creating the right processes and routines. This exercise had many ups and downs. A huge part of success is the interpretation of the past. Although one should not ignore the challenges, one should not dwell on everything that went wrong. I understand that if I want my big dream to come true, I have to accept that challenges are just a part of life. The bigger my goals are, the more complicated the challenges will be. I also have a deeper understanding about gratitude and changed my view on the subject. Before, I used to think of gratitude as a feel good concept. Although that’s valid, it’s also a success principle. Before accomplishing anything, one must recognize the resources at their disposal, the resources that they can access, the people in their lives that they can learn from and lean on, and many other factors. These factors need to be appreciated and then exploited.

What I am doing in my business was not possible even a decade ago. I have a video studio in my house, I can go live from Facebook, I can find freelancers, there is a plethora of free and paid training that can show me how to create an amazing business.

Looking back, I am grateful for the team that I built and I want to recognize Jamila Dulan and Chris Stevenson. They have been amazing this year. We have also added Dan Kaufman, Jennifer Doherty, Vince De Benedetto, Ariana Albarella, and Preeti Ghai.

Personally, I’m watching my two boys, Andrew and Tyler, who are five and three, grow up. Every second with them is a blessing.

Although we are going to take a couple of days off, I am going to think about what I want next year and plan out the next steps. I am not a big New Year’s resolution person. I believe in having a mission. My mission is to create a business that inspires me and supports whatever I want to do in my life. My business mission is to empower people to take control of their own destiny. I set goals around these missions because when you are guided by a mission, you are excited and motivated. You can expect more great content, more online classes, and more advice on living out your amazing.

Happy holidays and I will see you next year.
