Challenges are a part of life and they are especially part of an amazing life. Loving your life does not mean that you love dealing with challenges. It means a commitment to dealing with any and all challenges that come your way. Part of life is learning to deal with challenges in a better way and exploring how to succeed despite them.
When I want to take on something amazing, a big part of the process is understanding how my physical disability or mindset blocks are going to limit me. The goal is not to ignore these challenges or let them be roadblocks. The goal is to look at them creatively and navigate them on the path to amazing success.
I don’t love being disabled. I don’t love my speech impediment. My disability has provided me with a certain kind of unease, discomfort, insecurities and other emotions that can have the potential to kill my ambition, drive, and love of life. To be honest, it has the potential to slow me down, and, in the past, it has.
I always come back to the simple conclusion that I love my life. And, because I love my life, I accept that there are going to be challenges, and some of those challenges are unique to me. Some of those challenges are unique to a guy with cerebral palsy. However, most of the challenges that I face are not unique to me. They are just the price that I have to pay because I love my life.
A common excuse that I hear is that nobody understands because people think their circumstances are so unique. Whatever you are dealing with, somebody has dealt with and has deal with whatever you think is holding you back. You just need to love your life more and be committed to working on your challenges.
Someone out there has succeeded with less time than you, fewer resources than you, less energy than you, more physical challenges than you, and the list can go on. The difference was that they love their life more than you.
Loving your life is a key component to dealing with the challenges you will face on the road to amazing success. No matter what, you will not truly succeed until you love where you are in life and focus on everything you can and will achieve.
